J. BRIAN THOMPSON THERAPY
Ready to Feel Better?
Tired of feeling hurt in your relationships?
Ready to feel connected, clear, and empowered in your life?
Wow, things can get confusing and overwhelming so quickly! It is my job and my pleasure to help turn the tensions and pain you're experiencing into opportunities for growth and expansion. If you are ready to make changes and open to new possibilities, now is the time.
Therapy is a weird, amazing thing. Having a weekly space that is just for you can provide a lot of relief. I work from the basic premise that life is complicated and hard, but trustable. I'm 1,000 times more interested in what's true for you and what you want to express (and what wants to be expressed through you) than what is considered appropriate. We can learn so much by simply looking at where you are stuck and where there is flow.
We all need space to grieve and space to celebrate our progress and victories. Perhaps you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead.
Whatever you're wrestling with, I am confident there is hope for you.
In session, we will utilize the wisdom of your body as well as the logic of your brain. Whether you’re going through anxiety and depression, a hard relationship, or trying to overcome an addiction - I have the tools and professional experience to help you get where you want to be...or help you figure out where that is.

Try Something Different.
Isolation Sucks, Literally
Isolation is a leading cause of life being sucked out people (also known as depression). The group provides a potent, real-life way to connect to your sense of aliveness, purpose, and joy. We share in the victories, challenges, and exploration of what it is to be a man in this ever changing world.
I am a light-hearted therapist who isn't afraid of, nor unfamiliar with, the deep, dark, and sometimes scary or anxiety provoking feelings our life's journey can bring.
I believe that mindfulness is a key ingredient in change. First we must notice something before we can change it.
I received my undergraduate degree in Interpersonal Dynamics at the University of Redlands and my Masters in Integral Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist. Although I no longer teach, I am a Certified Yoga Teacher who has studied with a variety of spiritual teachers.
I also have a background in dance and basketball and I am trained in a body oriented way of working that I absolutely love called the Hakomi method. About Hakomi
